Meet Our Staff

Chris Lenker, Farm Manager: Chris is a 1979 Graduate of Line Mountain High School. He began working at Martz's in 1983. Chris's duties are to oversee the farm's day-to-day operations. Chris is also a guide and dog handler for the preserve. His hobbies are hunting, fishing, trapping, and 4-wheeling. Chris and his wife also operate a kennel and dog boarding service at his home. |

Robert L. Whitsel, Assistant Farm Manger: Bob graduated from Southern Huntington County High School in 1980. He began working for Martz's in February of 1990. His duties are assistant farm manager, hatchery manger, and hunting guide & dog handler. Bob's hobbies are trapping, hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR. He is also a PA hunter/trapper education instructor, Youth Field Day coordinator, PA Trappers-Director for District 7, and the owner of Whitsel's Trap Line Supplies and Furs. |

Roxanna Sheesley, Office Manager: Roxie is a 1975 graduate from Tri-Valley High School. She began working at Martz's on October 2, 1988. Her duties include collecting eggs, working in the hatchery, tending chicks, processing birds, and managing the office. Roxie's hobby is collecting ringneck pheasant items. |

Betty Lahr Betty began working at Martz's in September of 1988. Since that time Betty has become known as the infamous "Bird Cleaning Lady". Her responsibilities include tending chicks and partridges, and processing birds. Prior to her employment at Martz's, Betty had worked for Mandata Poultry for 30 years. Betty's hobbies include taking regular bus trips to Atlantic City, and socializing with her friends in Halifax. |

Pamela R. Hood Pam graduated from Line Mountain High School in 1975. She began working on October 1, 1999. Her duties include secretary, collecting eggs, tending chicks, working in the hatchery, processing birds, and cleaning the lodges. Pam's hobbies are cake decorating, archery, and reading. She is also a Relay for life Team Captain and committee member.

Keith Ramberger: Keith graduated from Line Mountain High School in 1982. He began working at Martz's Game Farm during the summer of 2001. His duties include maintenance work, feeding coordinator, releasing birds, and earth moving/excavating. Keith is also a guide and dog handler for the hunting preserve. His hobbies are hunting, fishing, trapping, gun collecting, and small engine repair. |

Gene Hepner: Gene is a 1954 graduate of Millersburg High School. He began working here in August of 1995, and since then he has become the primary truck driver and deliveryman for live bird customers. Gene's jobs entail truck driving, the disaffection and sanitation of the brooder houses, and he is a guide and dog handler for the hunting preserve. His hobbies are hunting and traveling. |

Lester Trayer: Lester is a 1949 graduate of Mahanoy Joint. He began working at Martz's in 1998. Lester is the game farm's carpenter and all around handyman. His hobbies are carpentry and woodworking. |

Brad "Darv" Whary: Darv is a 2002 graduate from Line Mountain High School, and graduated from Luzerne County Community College in 2005 with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. He began working here in October of 2003. His duties include collecting eggs, releasing birds, waste relocation and feeding. Darv's Hobbies are hunting, paintball, and playing golf. |
