Don and Cindy

Hup & Polly

In 1955 Harold J. Martz started Martz's Game Farm, where he raised ringneck pheasants.  In the fall of 1957 a group of 12 men, mostly doctors and lawyers, approached Harold about starting a hunting club.  He would raise and release the birds, and the club members would pay him to hunt on his land.  He agreed and, after much success, opened the hunting to the public two years later, thus beginning Martz's Gap View Hunting Preserve.  In 1980 Don joined his father as a business partner.  In 1991 Harold retired, but remained active in the business.  In 2002, Don's son Mike became a business partner; thus fulfilling Harold's dream of a three-generation business. Mike became the majority partner on December 31, 2005. Don considers himself to be "semi-retired" and continues to remain active in the business. The goal of Martz's Gap View Hunting Preserve has always been to provide great hunting for sportsmen.  We have had an unbeatable combination to help us toward that goal-  God's blessing, family support, outstanding employees, faithful service and supply people, and above all wonderful, supportive customers.
